Has gone from strength to strength over the past years with an attendance of around 50 people each time. Enough money has been raised that, with additional grants, we have been able to provide our cooks with a new kitchen. Which was inaugurated in January 2016.
Carols on the Green, Friday 16th December 2016
The weather was fair this December, we were graced with the presence of members from Ash Choir, and attendance was up on last year. The hot drinks and mince pies were served once again from Ellen’s front garden. The brass band played well and everyone sang enthusiastically. Children were given free glow sticks. A modest profit was made.
The Fete Sunday 26th June 2016
The weather was much better this year and attendance was greater. This year featured more children’s entertainments, there was ferret racing behind the Village Hall and a number of craft stalls inside. We took more than £3,000 and our profit was more than £2,000, well done to everyone who helped to make the day a success.
Sense, the charity whose box is in the Village Hall car park, have told us how happy they are with the level and quality of the contributions they have received from us. Keep up the good work everyone. Remember that any clothing put in the box is to be sold so needs to be of marketable quality.
